This system of divinaton uses, with the exception of the final card, the eternal Sea, or Mor, trees or shrubs as symbols. Trees have been with Man since the very beginning, they have a life span usually far in excess of ours, they are secure and the only concession to change they make is dictated by the yearly cycle of seasons.
This is a lengthy and detailed spread comprising 15 cards, drawn in sets of 5, to form 3 circles made up of North, South, East, West, and Centre. Therefore, it is quite possible that any particular card may appear more than once in the same reading. Confused yet?! Each of the three circles corresponds to a state of mind of the querent, becoming progressively deeper, or less active.
The first circle is the past and the influences that are shaping the circumstances of the querent. Depending on the question being asked of the cards, this circle can also be regarded as the confusion presently being faced.
The second circle is the present and the position the querent is in at the very time of the reading. Alternatively, it can be seen as the balance needed to approach and tackle the problem.
The third and final circle is the way forward, the future perhaps, or the aspirations of the querent, or even the creative force that may resolve the problem at hand. The five positions in each circle relate to the four elements and to the etheric, the spiritual centre, and also to the five mythical castles or cities which protect them.
The five cards on each circle show different aspects of the question or problem posed, as follows:
1) Earth - The foundation and the basis.
2) Fire - The spotlight, that which is in focus at the moment.
3) Air - Vocalisation, referring to things spoken of.
4) Water - Dreams through the influences of the moon and the sea.
5) Etheric Link - The thread that runs through all the aspects of the question or problem and binds them together and gives them coherence.
Conditions change slowly, and this method of divination affects the remote, immediate and current activities, and results may appear some months after the reading. Therefore, I suggest that when you receive your reading, you read it a few times, then put it away in a safe place and refer back to it about once a month. This method of divination 'Ogham', is as direct as the I-Ching, and it bears some relation to it in the way that the reader must make a personal interpretation. This type of reading, and indeed this deck of cards, gives a very different divination experience compared to tarot for example, or oracle cards. Therefore, you should not expect a similar sort of reading from this service. These cards are insightful, and as mentioned before, this method of reading is quite lengthy and dare I say it, a little tricky, however the results can still be just as accurate if you take the time to interpret them to your individual situation.
